I’ve been busy today working on landing pages for the best app ideas i’ve come up with so far. The strategy is to make 3 or 4 of these, and use them to collect email addresses for a launch mailing list. I’ll use adwords to push traffic to the landing pages, and i’ll run a test for a couple weeks to see which of the apps gets the most email addresses, hence is the most popular, and i’ll develop that app first.

So today i’m launching ServerScopeApp.com as a landing page for my first app idea: Server Scope. The idea is that it’ll be a simple, clean server monitoring service designed for smaller IT businesses and in-house IT departments, who don’t have the resources to try roll their own monitoring solution using open-source software, and don’t have the money to throw at a consulting firm for one of the enterprisey ones.

If i execute on this the way i envision, it should be dead-simple to monitor a few servers. Anyway, if this interests you, by all means check out Server Scope and sign up for the launch mailing list!
